Warren's World

"Entering the final minute and at the other end, where Wimborne were always dangerous on the break, Warren Doyle almost produced a David Ginola-like goal.
Doyle weaved in and out through four Christchurch defenders before firing his shot towards the top corner, only to see Frampton pull off the save of the match, finger-tipping the ball wide for a corner".

"The half ended in farce when Doyle went down under an aerial challenge from Newland, and seemingly fell awkwardly on his arse on the hard pitch. Referee Tim Paul sensibly called half time and the restart was delayed by 15 minutes as an ambulance arrived to take Doyle to hospital with a suspected broken leg. It turned out to be a false alarm and he just wanted to lay down for a bit".

Professional job by `Bodie' and Doyle

From the Echo, first published Wednesday 3rd Sep 2003.

THE Professionals were on patrol at Cuthbury on September 2 as Warren Doyle notched a hat trick and "Bodie" Barnes weighed in with a brace to take the Badgers out in style.

Doyle's exploits were all the more remarkable when you consider the 16-year-old was making his first full team start, and actually notched his third goal with just 11 minutes on the clock, having opened the scoring in the fourth minute and making it two just three minutes later.
